Wine Tasting with the Charlemagne Wine Club
A tour of Italy and its native grape varieties, this is what happened last Monday evening with the Charlemagne Wine Club in Ealing. We tasted two whites, a rose and seven reds.
The whites were the Arneis from Cascina Bongiovanni, and a Grechetto from Cantina Chiorri, whereas the Rose was a 100% Montepulciano from Barone Valforte (Cerasuolo).
The reds ranged from a selection of Sangiovese wines from Tuscany and Romagna to a Negroamaro from Puglia, a Nero d'Avola from Sicily and two Aglianico's from Campania.
An excellent and interesting evening finishing with bread and chees to accompany the left over wine.
