Villa de Puppi Pinot Grigio 2009

Made from 100% Pinot Grigio grapes, producing a wine with 12.5% volume.

This is a simply wonderful example of a Pinot Grigio from Friuli.  The grapes were picked at the beginning of September, and on their arrival at the cellar, they were chilled with carbon dioxide snow before crushing - this is important to preserve the varietal characteristics.  The must was fermented in stainless steel vats, and the wine matured on the lees. 

This wine has a very subtle pink blush, with a fresh, elegant nose giving hints of banana and tropical fruits.  On the palate it is beautifully balanced with a subtlety of flavour that is magnificent.  A truly elegant wine giving complexity and depth not always experienced from Pinot.  Definately worth trying.

Will age for 2 - 3 years.
